The conclusion of the magazine (they also listened) was that for bigger rooms the FE208Ez enclosure was best, for smaller rooms with the speakers closer to the wall they did prefer the original recommended enclosure.Īlso, and not surprisingly, they recommended to experiment with listening angle and use a suitable amp, both to manage the much rising response of the driver. Other wobbles in the freq response do not differ that much. There is a steep pit in the frequence response of the recommended enclosure which is much less present in the FE208Ez enclosure. The result is (I am no posting a scan for copyright reasons) that the FE206en has better bass in the FE208ez enclosure. Leaving aside the opinion that there are better enclosures than the Fostex recommended cabinets for these drivers, it was interesting to compare the measurements. Hi all, fyi in its current issue the German speaker diy magazine Hobby Hifi tested the FE206en in its Fostex recommended enclosure, and on a separate page also measured it in the FE208ez enclosure which most will agree is better looking, hence throughout the years several people wondered if it.
